Upon graduating from Stautzenberger College in 2002, Valerie began her career as a Registered Veterinary Technician with Sylvania Vet  Hospital as one of the overnight technicians. She began learning the importance of having quality care for the hospitalized patients  needs, answering questions of concerned clients/non-clients over the  phone or assiting clients with  the more serious cases that needed  to be seen. After doing overnights for a few years she then moved  to the day shift, doing numerous job duties, such as, surgery,  patient treatments, working in the lab, and giving each patient and  clients the care they need and deserve.

Valerie has had a love for animals of all kinds her entire life and  knew that this was the field for her. Some of Valeries additional contributions to Sylvania Vet is that she is a  member of Sylvania Vet’s Critical Care Blood Donor team, volunteers at many of the events that Sylvania Vet either sponsors or supports, and helps maintain the Cat Cuddler program for our feline blood donors. Valerie also offers her services of pet sitting, as well as, visits to clients homes to medicate or walk their pets.

She is a mother of two great young adults, Jon and Amber and a grandmother of two beautiful grandchildren, Sienna and Trevion. Her household also consists of her furry children :

• Gabbana 1 1/2 year old American bulldog/ Pit bull mix
• Sadie 8 year old German short-haired pointer/ Lab mix
• Misty an 8 year old feline who commands respect from any and all  beings in “Her” domain.

Valerie also loves reading, gardening, volunteering and spending  time with family in her spare time.
