Lisa R.

My name is Lisa and I am a 2004 graduate of the University of Toledo and aLisa R. 2009 graduate of Stautzenberger College’s Veterinary Technician program.  After working in commercial banking for six years, I decided that I wanted a career that was more fulfilling and rewarding.  I have always been fascinated with animals of all kinds since I was a small child and I soon realized that a career that involved working with animals was a much better fit for me.  I was fortunate enough to complete my externship with SylvaniaVET and began working full time shortly thereafter.  My greatest passion lies with exotics, especially the husbandry concerns of reptiles and rabbits.  Client education is my favorite aspect of working at SylvaniaVET, but working emergency hours is also a very exciting part of my job.  At home I have quite the collection of pets:  a ball python named Missy, a Columbian Boa named Lucky Jr., a Russian tortoise named Nikki, a Mini Rex rabbit named Henry Kissinger (Hank), a cat named Kitters that I adopted from SylvaniaVET and three new Himalayan kittens named Bacon, Eggs and Toast.  I could not imagine my life without them!
