MANY OF YOU KNOW THAT DR. KELLY IS GETTING MARRIED IN OCTOBER. SHE IS MARRYING A NEW PURDUE GRADUATE VETERINARIAN RICK GERHOLD. NOW THAT THERE ARE TWO PROFESSIONAL CAREERS TO ACCOMMODATE WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO SAY GOODBYE TO KELLY. SHE AND RICK WILL BE LIVING IN ATHENS GEORGIA. KELLY WILL BE LEAVING OUR PRACTICE AUGUST 1. WE ARE SORRY TO SEE KELLY LEAVE. OF COURSE WE WISH HER AND RICK NOTHING BUT THE BEST. JULY 17 WILL BRING DR. AMY ESTES TO OUR STAFF. SHE IS A GRADUATE OF KANSAS STATE COLLEGE OF VETERINARY MEDICINE. SHE WILL CONTINUE KELLY'S EXCELLENT AVIAN WORK. AMY HAS HAD TWO INTERNSHIPS THAT INVOLVED AVIAN MEDICINE AT THE FT. WORTH AND DENVER ZOOS. WE ARE EXCITED TO HAVE AMY JOIN OUR STAFF. WE HOPE TO HAVE A PARTY TO SAY GOOD-BYE TO KELLY AND HELLO TO AMY IN LATE JULY. LOOK FOR YOUR INVITATION IN NEXT MONTHS FYI. Dr Bob is writing a column called "ask the vet" being published in Parent Magazine. We encourage you to pick up a free copy of Parent and read his column. If you would like to submit a picture of your children and your pet there is a chance it will be published in "ask the vet"
It is time for all dogs, cats and ferrets to be on monthly heartworm medication. There is no pet that we do not recommend taking Heartgard plus. Dr. Bob will be on the Denny Schafer Breakfast Club on KISS FM with his Ask the Vet segment Friday, May 18. You can listen or call in starting at 8AM. Our friends a PAWS AND WHISKERS FELINE SHELTER need help with two fund raising events. First is the PAWS garage sale to be held during the OLD WEST END FESTIVAL. They are looking for donations of merchandise they can resell. They do not want clothes. You may drop off your donations at the shelter, 38 Hillwyck Dr. every day from 8 AM-8 PM. PAWS has been selected to benefit from the Friday, July 20 Rally on
the River. This is a potentially lucrative fund raiser for PAWS. The
catch is they need 150 volunteers to man the numerous jobs necessary
to make the Friday night summer tradition a success. Volunteers must
be 21. Several of us from the hospital will be volunteering for the
evening. You will receive a free T-shirt and other benefits for your
help. Happy Mothers Day from all
